About Paige

Hi! I’m Paige, I am in the first year of being “Mommy” to my son Xander, and I’m IN LOVE. He brings me pure joy each and every single day. That isn’t to say being a mom is sunshine and daisies, most days are a mixture, and some days are harder and some days are easier; but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The hubby and I treasure everyday with our son. We weren’t sure if we could have kids or how easy it would be (I have PCOS) and were blessed and surprised when we found out I was pregnant.

I have bounced around pursuing a career in fashion. I studied fashion design and merchandising in Prato, Italy at the age of 21. From there I studied fashion merchandising at Houston Community College, and moved to Los Angeles in 2007 (Mandy made the drive with me) to study at FIDM – Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. While in L.A. I worked assisting with various stylists, did costuming for a comedic short and a Dr Pepper commercial, styled for Eliza magazine, and was a dresser at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week L.A. I had a lot of “almosts”, like interning with HBO for True Blood to styling an up and coming band, that didn’t pan out (thanks to the economy, and actor and writer strikes of 2008).

Life was HARD and I was tapped out. That’s when Mandy came and helped me pack up my belongings and shattered dreams and head back home to Texas.

Six months later I met Gabriel at church. He was in Houston selling pest control (a “Bug Boy”) for the summer. After a month of being inseparable it was time for him to move back to South Carolina. We did the long distance thing for over 9 months. Finally at the age of 29, I married my Southern Gentleman in November of 2010 in the Houston LDS Temple. Yes, I’m a Mormon. My faith is weaved into every aspect of my life, and through it I truly believe family is the greatest gift we have here on this Earth.

Gabriel’s work took us west, and we lived in Salt Lake City, UT for 2 years. While there I worked in Visual Merchandising at Forever 21, volunteered at Sundance Film Festival, played with kitties at The Humane Society, taught Sunday School for the 3 yr old class at church, and helped brides find their dream dresses at Davids Bridal (LOVED that job!). When my mom had a stroke in November of 2013 we moved back to Houston. We arrived home two days before Christmas, after a scary trip in a U-Haul through mountains in Utah and encountered ice and snow in West Texas. Three weeks later, on Jan 19th, my dad passed away unexpectedly. Needless to say 2014 was a hard year. One that tested me, our marriage, and strengthened my faith.

In contrast 2015 was one of the happiest and most exciting years of my life. We bought our first home and found out we were expecting on the same day!! That was in late January, and Lil Man arrived in early October. (Oh man being pregnant in the summer was BRUTAL!!) The hubby has been slowly and steadily working on our “extreme fixer upper” of a home, and we are currently living with my parents. This past year has flown by and I’m just running to keep up, and enjoying every snuggle, kiss, smile and nap I get! I can’t wait to get into our house and add all the personal touches to it (and share the whole experience with you) and create a home for my little family.

As you can tell I have a passion for fashion! I also am a total Disney Dork (I swear it gets more intense the older I get) and it’s a love Mandy and I both share. I love movies and my dream would be to work in costuming and set decoration on a movie. Halloween is my favorite holiday and the best time of the year; any excuse to dress up, eat candy and partake of scary things is awesome to me! I have a serious Target addiction…I may need help, lol. I love to celebrate the little things and help to make people happy. I am definitely one to go out of my way to cheer someone up. I love crafting fun parties and if it’s my party you can guarantee there will be a photobooth (I think it’s stems from growing up with a photographer dad). I’m always up for an adventure and have a desire to travel and learn about the world. My dream destination is England and the UK and I hope to visit all the Disney Parks one day.

I’m so excited to share this journey of motherhood with y’all. I really want this blog to be a place where we can inspire and uplift, and just be real and honest about this thing we call life.
